The odds on the New England Patriots winning its first Super Bowl in team history without Tom Brady have shortened after signing quarterback Cam Newton to a one-year deal.

Newton was one of the most electrifying college football players in recent memory when he came out of Auburn in 2011. He was drafted No. 1 by the Panthers, the team he called home his entire professional career.
